An excursion to get to know the two jewels of Malta in the best way.

We pick you up from the terminal and start with Mdina, the ancient capital, which today is known as “the city of silence”. It seems taken out of a storybook, not in vain many great productions such as “Gladiator”, “Agora” or “Game of Thrones” have been shot in its streets.

It is only necessary to rest your elbows on its high walls and almost as a bird’s eye view we can observe practically the whole of the island. Thus we managed to enter the shoes of the sentries who from that very point guarded the seas and their shores looking for the enemy. We will walk its streets and corners, discovering its history and its medieval architecture.

And then we continue with Valletta, the current capital of Malta and the only European capital with the honor of being a World Heritage Site.

The first stone of the Valletta was laid in 1566. After that, many followed it to form the most modern city in Europe in the 16th century. At the time, its main charm lay, not only in its honey-colored streets or panoramic views of the Grand Harbour, but in that Valletta did not smell! As it was built on a system of pipes which made it the dream city of European nobility.

The Baroque also came to Malta by the Order of St. John. The city modernizes in the new style losing its previous air of war fortress and becoming a unique city, able to penetrate the spirit of the most experienced travelers leaving a hard-to-forget mark.

We’ll tour the city’s most iconic landmarks, such as Upper Barraca Gardens, Republic Street or St George’s Square, with explanations of why and how it was built and how it evolved.

Although not included in the visit we strongly recommend the entrance to the concathedral of St. John, splendid convent church of the order of Malta considered “the most baroque building in the world”, in which two paintings of Caravaggio are also housed. “St. Jerónimo writing” and “The Beheading of St. John”, the artist’s masterpiece.
